I can see how it could mess up a really new player, but the blue text warning seemed pretty blatant to me. So, even though I was actually quite ill-prepared for the adventure, I didn't run into too much difficulty. I did read the warning beforehand, but chose not to leave the quest too long anyway - I figured I'd be embarking on my initial trade route as soon as I had that Suppressor to out-run Zee beasts. At the end I chose the ol' switcharoo, and liberally gifted/traded/sold the resulting gift for a mixture of port reports, revelatory charts, coffee and favours so I think that bonus was almost as profitable for my ends as the night of borrowing Mr Sacks' robe. ![]() In the end, Mr Sacks took a smidgen of either my teeth or my warmth (I forget which comes first, but I only lost one stat) as well as a bite out of my wealth (I was very very glad I'd just spent most of it as a deposit for Sphinxstone!), but never got to my crew. At that moment, I realised that I was mixed up in something much bigger and more important than I had figured when I started the quest. ![]() I was actually really fortunate, since it turned out to be within spitting distance of the Salt Lions, which is where I was headed for some Sphinxstone - it was just after I'd picked up a load there that I got my first episode of Mr Sacks' hunger. Unfortunately, I'd already bumbled my way into causing a revolution and destroying any chance of civilization there, so I had to quickly explore to find the Khanate. fortunately I did know the location of Pigmote Isle for the first quest though. I'd found most of the major trading ports I normally use, but had forgotten that the Khanate normally counts in other people's versions of that list. ), and going through the Magician's quest to obtain the serpentine. I was actually working towards the Avid Suppressor for my corvette at the time (after which I promptly discovered that the corvette doesn't actually have an aft slot. My first time attempting Mr Sacks' quest, I had no clue what I was in for. ![]()
